Can an OTDR test an Ethernet cable?
A conventional fiber OTDR is designed for optical fiber, not copper Ethernet cable.
It sends optical pulses through fiber and analyzes returned light to identify events and estimate their distance along the fiber link.
However, modern communication systems frequently contain both fiber optic and RJ45 Ethernet cabling.
